I was fascinated by the transition of values in the sky: the darker clouds against a light sky, a middle area where they meld into each other, and then the upper area where the lighter clouds appear against a darker sky. There is a kind of “magic” in the transformation of the values in the painting, hence the title: Evening Alchemy.
