The Groupies

Oil on linen panel. The Groupies was inspired by some women who refer to themselves as “the groupies.” They were in many of the painting classes that I taught. In November 2024 they gave me a beautiful flower arrangement as a gift and “dared” me to “paint that”. Being a fan of painting in layers, this was a welcome endeavor. Later when the delicate flowers were drooping and needed to be removed I had left overs that I could dry. So I did that and placed them in a colored vase and did a second painting that is totally different from the first painting. Out of that dare, I found my way to 2 new oil paintings.
