This plein air scene depicts a portion of a gardenia bush in the garden of my sister who had recently passed. This was her favorite plant in the garden and this was the very first bloom to open and re-enlighten life and moving forward after her passage to her next journey. The beginning of a new season. A beautiful reminder of her soul and her life not being lost or halted, but continuing on in our minds, hearts and souls.
