Pizza Nocturne

This is an oil painting of a building in my home town of Claremont, CA. at night. This was done on a cotton canvas, using water based oils and linseed oil. The glow cast by the the neon sign upon the building, awnings, trees and people captivated my attention. The cool, bluish green lights in the background cast by storefronts and street lights nicely complemented the red-orange glow in the foreground. I snapped a series of photos to use as references, and then rendered the painting in the studio.
