Battling the Blazes

This is a nocturne using water-based oils and linseed oil. It was inspired by the bravery of LA County firefighters battling huge fires in the region. I wanted to capture the haunting beauty of the brilliant warm lights given off by the flames, the orange glow cast upon the fireman, the cooler bluish complementary colors of the buildings and the street, along with white and cooler red lights given off by undefined objects in the distance.
