Self Portrait at Arlington National Cemetery

This is a self portrait at 49. It is an oil painting. In addition to being a self portrait of the artist, it is also a Plein Air painting of the Washington DC skyline. The portrait is based upon a photograph the artist took of himself at the J.F.K. Gravesite where his Inaugural Address is. In the background is Arlington Cemetery, but also, Memorial Bridge, the Lincoln Memorial, and the Washington Monument. The photograph was made in March 2024, and the painting was done in studio.
