Mount Shuksan reflected in Picture Lake in the North Cascades of Washington State. This is one of my favorite places on the planet. I sketched in the mountain and its reflection and worked quickly with a wet, loose wash. The foliage along the edge of the lake glowed a rich gold color. I was attempting to capture the contrast of the massive cold mountain, rimmed by the warm gold foliage.
