Late October Field

Painted entirely en plein air. I was about to start working on a different project, but took the dog outside to the bathroom and was completely captivated by the view behind my house. I almost didn’t startbecause the farmer was working on his tractor close to where I would be painting and thought he might be a little weirded out by me standing there for the next few hours. I’m glad I did it though because it was one of the most enjoyable painting experiences I have ever had. I am always fascinated by how the same field can change so dramatically within one growing season.
