Resting

"Resting" is a watercolor on paper. I was always impressed with Alphonse Mucha's style, his ability to depict the female figure in drapery, with a perfect mix of elegance and beautiful graphic design flow, sometime with a touch of abstract. It was a similar idea behind this work. In this case, I started with a pencil drawing and spent a lot of time on the Celtic design and the drape flow. Once that was done, I worked on applying a watercolor transparent layer with lots of abstract textures, that I eventually used and remodeled in order to complete the final painting.
