Puppy Love
I spend lots of time learning about wildlife and conservation at Southwest Wildlife Conservation Center near my home in Arizona. I am fortunate to encounter coyotes and other wildlife around my home and studio.
Puppy Love captured a tender moment with these two coyotes.
Fun facts about coyotes:
• They mate for life.
• Coyotes show affection to each other with gentle nuzzles and snuggling. Greetings usually occur around dusk. They include nose touches and lots of body contact, squealing and wiggles.
• The differences between coyotes and wolves are in their snout/muzzles, ears, size and tails. Coyotes have narrower features and longer snouts/muzzles than a wolf. A wolves ears are more rounded than the pointed ears of the coyote. Wolves have bushier and shorter tails. Coyotes are shorter, sleeker and lighter on their feet.
