Sunlit Sanctuary

This piece was inspired by the dappled light created as clouds moved across the salt marsh surrounding Huntin Island, SC. I wanted to give a setting for an egret that highlighted the sunlight and warm atmosphere that the bird was flying into. Compositionally, I wanted the bird to fly towards the middle of the painting, being aided by the meandering waterway and trees in guiding the viewers eye.
