A Day at the Lake

I decided to paint this topic after researching the effects global warming can cause on bodies of water such as lakes. Due to climate change, the increasing heat can completely evaporate lakes and I wanted to present this in my painting. Having a little child with a bright floaty amidst a barren lake elicits an ironic tone to the crisis at hand through contrast.
